LADA works on initiatives relating to Live Art and older individuals and communities, including curatorial projects, programming partnerships with other organisations, publications, opportunities and resources. The following summary includes links to more information on each initiative.



Restock, Rethink, Reflect Four: on Live Art and Privilege

Lois Weaver undertook a residency exploring Live Art practices and methodologies in relation to older generations.


Study Room Guide & Toolkit

Free print and online resources by Lois Weaver: a Study Room Guide looking at a range of projects and resources, and Toolkit in the form of a series of recipe cards on working with older generations.


Restock, Rethink, Reflect Three: on Feminism

Mapping and marking the impact of performance on feminist histories and the contribution of artists to discourses around contemporary gender politics.


Old Dears

Performances, screenings and discussions on the radical, influential and fiercely feminist practices of an older generation of artists who embody feminist histories and whose work continues to contribute to discourses around gender politics.


Rocio Boliver Workshop

‘Between Menopause and Old Age, Alternative Beauty,’ a unique workshop for ten older women artists, led by the acclaimed Mexican performance artist Rocio Boliver.


Legacy: Thinker in Residence Awards

Anne Bean and Tim Etchells received £30,000 each to undertake in-depth research, addressing the legacies of performance in art historical contexts, examining the processes and challenges of archiving live work, and looking at their own performance practice in relation to these.


Live Art UK

Many of the organisational members of the Live Art UK network develop and support Live Art by, for, and with older artists and audiences.



LADA’s Unbound shop includes a selection of titles relating to Feminism.
